Step One: Nomination

As a sponsoring organization, you may nominate up to three candidates for consideration for the Carol Emmott Fellowship program. Each candidate must meet all of the nomination criteria and eligibility requirements. We ask that you confirm each candidate’s interest in participating in the program prior to submitting any information to the Fellowship.

All nomination information must be emailed to Felisa Contreras, Operations Director no later than May 15, 2018. Download the nomination form by clicking on the button below or contact for more details on how to sponsor a woman leader in your organization.

To nominate a candidate for the Carol Emmott Fellowship program, the sponsoring organization must submit the following items:

  • The nomination form, which includes:

    • The candidate’s contact information: name, degree(s), title, organization, address, email, and phone

    • The nominator's name, title, organization, contact information, and relationship to the candidate

    • The name, title, and contact information of the organization champion* if different than the nominator

  • A one-page letter of recommendation from the organization champion* which includes the candidate’s track record of successful leadership and why she would be ideal for the fellowship program

* The organization champion, oftentimes the nominator, has senior executive authority within the fellow’s organization and acts as a liaison with other areas of the institution. He/she serves as a link to the strategic direction of the organization. The organization champion will help provide resources and overcome barriers on behalf of the fellow during the program year.

Upon receipt of all nomination materials, we will contact each qualified candidate with instructions on how to complete the application.

STEP TWO: Application

All nomination information must be submitted by the sponsoring organization before a candidate may apply. Once received, qualified candidates are invited by the fellowship to complete the application. Candidate applications and resumes are due June 15, 2018. Phone interviews with the candidates are conducted in July and August 2018. Successful applicants and their sponsoring organizations are notified in mid-September 2018, and the program begins October 1, 2018.
